Publisher details outstanding. The legal identity and contact address of the publisher have not yet been supplied and appear below as placeholder text. This policy must not be relied on as the final published version until those fields are completed.

In short

Frequative analyses audio on your device. It does not send your audio, your measurements or your session history anywhere. Lelaris Labs operates no servers for the app, has no user accounts, and receives no personal data from it.

The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising SDK and no tracking technology. Its only outbound communication is with Google Play, and only when you interact with a Frequative Pro subscription.

Who we are

Frequative is published by Lelaris Labs (“we”, “us”).

Audio

Microphone analysis

When you use microphone analysis, Frequative requests the Android microphone permission. Audio from the microphone is read into memory, transformed into a frequency spectrum, and drawn on screen.

Frequative does not record microphone audio to a file, and does not transmit it. The audio itself is processed in memory for display and is not retained as an audio recording after analysis.

System Audio

On supported Android 10+ devices, Frequative can analyse the system playback stream using Android's playback-capture API, started through the standard Android media-projection consent prompt.

  • System Audio captures the audio stream only. It does not capture, read or store screen pixels or screen content.
  • While System Audio is active, the microphone contributes nothing to the analysis.
  • Captured audio is processed in memory for display. It is not written out as an audio recording and is not transmitted.
  • Android may prevent capture of particular apps or audio streams. Where the platform does not provide the stream, Frequative reports that rather than substituting another source.

Data stored on your device

Frequative stores the following locally on your device, in the app's own storage:

  • Session history — summary information about analysis sessions you have run, so you can review them later.
  • App settings and state — your display mode, FFT size, smoothing, frequency range and similar preferences.
  • Subscription entitlement state — whether Frequative Pro is currently active, as reported by Google Play.

This data stays on the device. It is not uploaded to us. Removing the app removes this data from the device, subject to Android backup, described below.

CSV export

When you export a session as CSV, the file is written where you choose on your device. What happens to that file afterwards is under your control — if you share it, it goes wherever you send it. We do not receive exported files.

Purchases

Frequative Pro is sold as a subscription through Google Play Billing. Purchases, payment details, renewals, refunds and cancellations are handled by Google, not by us.

  • We do not see, receive or store your payment card details or billing address.
  • The app asks Google Play whether a valid Pro entitlement exists, and unlocks Pro features accordingly.
  • Google processes purchase data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy and terms.

This is the only circumstance in which the app communicates over the network.

Android backup

Frequative currently has Android's backup behaviour enabled (android:allowBackup="true") and does not restrict it with custom backup rules. This means Android's own Auto Backup may include the app's local data in a device backup associated with your Google account, and may restore it when you set up a new device.

That backup is operated by Google as part of Android, under Google's terms and privacy policy. We do not control it, cannot access it, and receive nothing from it. You can turn Android backup off in your device settings.

Permissions Frequative requests

  • RECORD_AUDIO — microphone analysis.
  • MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS — audio configuration needed for analysis.
  • FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK_CAPTURE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PROJECTION — required by Android to run System Audio capture in the foreground.
  • INTERNET — required by the application framework and used for Google Play Billing communication.
  • WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 10 and below only) — writing exported files on older Android versions.

What Frequative does not do

  • No user accounts, sign-in or profiles.
  • No analytics, telemetry or usage tracking.
  • No crash-reporting SDK.
  • No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
  • No cookies — the app is not a website and sets none.
  • No sale or sharing of personal data. We hold none to sell or share.
  • No transmission of your audio, measurements, session history or exports to us or to any third party.

Children

Frequative is a general-purpose audio analysis tool. It is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we do not collect or hold personal data about you, there is generally nothing for us to retrieve, correct or delete on request. Data held locally by the app is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall it. For purchase records held by Google, contact Google Play.

If you believe we hold information about you and want to ask about it, contact us at support.lelarislabs@gmail.com.

This website

This website is a static site with no analytics, no tracking scripts, no cookies and no third-party embeds. It loads no external resources. Standard server-side request logging by our hosting provider may occur as part of normal operation of the service.

Changes

If Frequative's behaviour changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here before the behaviour ships where practical.
